Maintenance Technician
At POAH Communities, we are committed to community development and preserving affordable rental housing. We seek a skilled Maintenance Technician for Rock Harbor Village.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Be knowledgeable of relevant laws and EPA/OSHA regulations.
- Monitor apartment property conditions and address unsafe situations promptly.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
- Detect and complete minor and routine maintenance/repairs.
- Verify completion of make-ready repairs and services.
- Inspect and coordinate needed make-ready repairs and services.
- Assist in maintaining grounds by raking, sweeping, or shoveling as necessary.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in apartment maintenance is required.
- A High School diploma or GED is required; HVAC certification is preferred.
- A valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage are required for occasional use of personal vehicles.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts, is necessary.
- Proficiency in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, mechanical equipment, measuring devices, and user-moved aids is essential.
- The capacity to perform physical tasks, such as being on feet, bending, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder level, grasping/gripping/turning, lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds, reading, and understanding maintenance forms and warning labels, is required.
- The ability to work in various weather conditions is necessary.
