Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous mature front/back office medical assistant for our Walnut Creek Office. We are a podiatry group with two main locations but also travel to facilities to care for senior residents (El Cerrito, Concord, Walnut Creek, Oakland). Our practice is growing, and we are interested in candidates who is ready to grow with us. We would like someone who is able to multi-task, adapt to changes (as we are slowly going paperless), is punctual, reliable, and organized. No experience in a medical office? We will train you if you are willing to learn. Ideally, we would like someone who will be long term, but we ask for at least a two-year commitment.
Requirements:
High school Diploma or equivalent
Medical Office Experience (Preferred)
We travel to facilities and have two offices (Berkeley and Walnut Creek), means of transport will be necessary
Must be vaccinated-covid (required at senior facilities we visit)
Full time position- 8:45am to 5:00pm (Some days we may run late to 5:30pm)
MUST BE PUNCTUAL. This position is recommended to individuals that are punctual and will be on time to fulfill their duties to patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Front office responsibilities
Coordinates with other MA’s and staff
Answers phones, checks voicemail in the am and pm, reminder calls
Schedule patients and recall patients using EMR (Athena)
Check-in/checks-out pts
Collects co-pays
Be familiar with insurances (PPOs, HMOs, Medicare, Medical)
Obtain orthotic coverage information and Prior Auths from insurance
Cover back office in other location if needed
Order Supplies/Front office inventory
Enters Superbills/Claims
-Back Office duties: (help with if needed)
Clean and restock rooms
Room pts
Sterilize instruments
Pull charts for the following day
Assist in taking x-rays
Assist in minor surgical procedures (ingrown, warts, avulsions, stitch removal)
Works on projects given by doctor
Support other MA’s duties
Keep track/inventory of supplies
Pack and fulfill supply request sheets for office
Cover front office in other location if needed
-Travel/mobile duties include:
Scheduling medical visits for assisted living facilities to provide foot care.
Keeping track of patients, managing the schedule, and helping to take notes for doctor.
Assist doctor in wound care which would involve bandaging wounds.
Assist doctor in nail care which would involve filing a patient's nails after doctor has debrided/trimmed the nails.
