What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pricing and Packaging Manager position at Podium?
As the Pricing and Packaging Manager at Podium, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing pricing strategies that drive long-term growth and profitability. This is a fast paced role with the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of AI. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop a deep understanding of our existing product offerings and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and product usage to optimize pricing for our existing products and develop pricing strategies for new offerings. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
What you will be doing:
- New Product Pricing: Collaborate with product management and finance teams to develop pricing strategies for new product launches.
- Pricing Process Optimization: Implement processes and KPIs to continuously monitor and analyze pricing performance to identify areas for improvement. Implement pricing adjustments, re-engineer pricing frameworks, and formulate promotions to maximize long-term revenue growth and profitability.
- Strategic Pricing: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify pricing opportunities and develop strategic pricing recommendations based on customer segments, product usage, customer vertical, and competitive landscape.
- Margin Protection: Develop and implement strategies to protect margins across the customer base, including identifying and addressing high-cost customers or customers with negative margins.
- Customer Management: Work with customer success and sales teams to address customer inquiries and concerns related to pricing, billing, and payments.
What you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 5 years of experience with at least 2 years of experience specifically in pricing analysis, preferably within a SaaS or technology company or as a pricing consultant
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex pricing strategies/recommendations to executive audiences
- Experience with pricing tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Bias towards action
