Cleaner/Janitor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces.
• Buff and maintain floors to ensure they are clean and presentable.
• Conduct industrial cleaning in designated areas to uphold safety standards.
• Manage custodial duties in both commercial and residential settings as needed.
• Carry out facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment.
• Assist with porter services, ensuring that all common areas are tidy and well-maintained.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests or emergencies to maintain a clean environment.
• Ensure proper use of cleaning supplies and equipment while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and maintenance.
• Experience in industrial cleaning environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of residential painting or facilities maintenance can be beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various settings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.80 - $21.70 per hour
