THIRD PARTY & RISK MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Promote, market, and facilitate the overall sale of products of the bank. Contribute to the bank's growth by the effective sale of bank services to new and existing customers with emphasis on courteous and professional service.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

This position reports directly to the Compliance Officer (CO).

This position reports indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

FLSA STATUS

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the FLSA.

OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for reviewing documents and transactions, preparing written reports and communications with bank officers, employees; to assure compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations, bank policies, procedures, and practices as related to regulatory compliance and the Third Party and Risk Management requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Compliance

  • Assist in performing compliance and quality control reviews on a scheduled and / or ad hoc basis, including but not limited to, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Truth In Lending Act (TILA) and Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) Integrated Disclosure (TRID) rule, and Fair Lending.
  • Assist, as required, in the preparation of responses to compliance review results for reporting to the Board and / or appropriate committees
  • Manage the Board Review, Approval, and Acknowledgment Schedule for policy presentations to the Board.
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting of CRA activity to the appropriate committee(s).
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory training sessions concerning the most recent examination results, compliance reviews, and / or examiner "hot topics."
  • Attend required meetings and complete all training necessary to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the coordination of, and preparation for, FRB and / or state regulatory agency exams, and external audits / reviews.
  • Assist in the maintenance of informational resources in order to access applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Other activities and functions as deemed necessary or appropriate by the CO.

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

  • Maintain a productive workflow and work as a member of a professional team.
  • Monitor the banks ERM updating annual reports including risk assessments, policies and procedures.
  • Verify written policies and procedures for all TPRM duties and functions are kept up to date.
  • Validate existing controls minimize and prevent TPRM risk, liability and loss. Offer suggestions and recommendations to Management for control changes when necessary.
  • Work with vendors to acquire the necessary due diligence documents.
  • Maintain TPRM records of due diligence documents and prepare annual summary reports, as required [e.g., critical and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) vendors].
  • Monitor vendor contracts and notify the COO of any trends, (potential or actual) problems, etc. needing to be addressed, so Management can ensure the products are performing to expectations.
  • Project Manager

  • Coordinate activities and information related to assigned projects.
  • Liaise with Management and Vendors to monitor and track project's progress and handle any issues that arise.
  • Make certain that the banks' needs are met as the project evolves.
  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports.
  • Manage the training of new products.
  • Attend all meetings and complete all training required to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Comply with all applicable Federal and State regulations and guidance associated with the performance of your job function.
  • Comply with all applicable BSA / AML / OFAC policies and procedures associated with the performance of your job function, including participation in required training and identifications of suspicious activity.
  • Responsible for making suggestions to improve branch / departmental operations and overall bank.
  • Perform other duties and assignments within the bank at Management's request; accept periodic cross-training, works in other branches as needed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    A successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The statements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

    1. Education and / or Experience - The candidate must have a general knowledge of federal regulations [e.g., Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), HMDA, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), RESPA, TILA, Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP)] and an overall understanding of bank compliance management. Subject-specific education and certification(s) from recognized sources (e.g., ABA, TBA, IBAT, BOL) are a plus.

    2. Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural guidance. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of co-workers, managers, and / or directors.

    3. Mathematic Skills - Ability to work with mathematic concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of creating graphs from data sets and the basics of spreadsheet pivot tables. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    4. Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematic or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    5. Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of bank's basic information systems; database software; Human Resource systems (e.g., Time Clock functions); internet software; spreadsheet software and FFIEC's HMDA & CRA Small Business Lending data entry and report generating software.

    Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience working for a financial institution. Degree preferred.
