Yard Operations Management:
- Oversee daily yard operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment.
- Organize and maintain the yard layout to optimize space utilization, safety, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with delivery drivers and internal teams to schedule incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of materials, tools, and equipment, utilizing inventory management software.
- Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of received materials, ensuring they meet project requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all yard activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the yard, equipment, and storage areas.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly to the Yard Manager or Safety Officer.
- Assist in conducting safety briefings and training for yard personnel.
Equipment and Fleet Management:
- Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and servicing of yard equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes, trucks) to ensure minimal downtime.
- Track and manage the usage of heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring proper documentation and logs are maintained.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment using forklifts, cranes, or other necessary machinery.
Logistics and Coordination:
- Collaborate with site supervisors, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
- Plan and prioritize material deliveries and pickups to align with project schedules and minimize delays.
- Manage the dispatch and return of rented or leased equipment and tools.
