Job Overview: The Dual-Hotel Sales and Marketing Manager oversees critical functions at the La Conner Inn and the La Conner Channel Lodge in La Conner, WA. This role involves developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to achieve room night and revenue goals. It also includes face-to-face coordination with current and prospective clients, collaboration with hotel teams, and hands-on support for client meetings and events.
Sales & Marketing
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to achieve revenue and room night sales goals.
- Lead marketing efforts to upsell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.
- Create and develop special events and sales campaigns to showcase the hotel to potential clients.
- Respond to incoming RFPs (Requests for Proposals) within 24 hours.
- Attend trade shows and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales opportunities.
- Work with the General Manager to develop and maintain a business leads program and follow up with prospective clients in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts.
Client & Community Relations
- Maintain professional rapport with hotel clients, community members, and leaders.
- Participate in community activities to achieve hotel goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts to produce group and/or meeting business, grow room sales, food and beverage sales, and catering/banquet services.
- Work closely with key business leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups to ensure high-profile hotel exposure.
- Demonstrate both critical thinking capability and emotional intelligence in daily communications.
Financial Management and Reporting
- Review monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyze current/potential market and sales trends.
- Coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plans.
- Participate in regular Revenue Management and Budgeting meetings as required by the General Manager.
- Create and implement sales plans to drive incremental occupancy, increase average rates, and boost food and beverage and banquet sales.
- Prepare weekly activity reports as prescribed for prospecting, inquiries, activities, and other sales activities.
Guest Experience
- Contribute to a positive guest experience culture by modeling first-class service to all guests and clients.
- Client setup and business fulfillment, as necessary. This includes meeting room setup, service preparation and delivery, group arrival welcome, and related activities.
- Work with the hotel leadership team to enhance the guest experience.
- Schedule conventions and business group activities at the hotels and coordinate with the operations team to ensure successful fulfillment of all meetings and events.
- Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information and special needs for arriving VIPs, groups, and other key guests.
Team Development & Leadership
- Assist in coaching and training all front desk team members on their role in the sales process.
- Educate, train, and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve hotel revenue goals.
- Ensure the team has the information, market data, tools, and equipment to successfully carry out job duties.
- Demonstrate professional appearance and behavior that is positive and consistent with organizational expectations.
- Lead by example and communicate effectively with all hotel guests, business clients, and employees.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule to ensure successful fulfillment of business demands and effective training and development of team members.
- Work seamlessly with other hotel departments to ensure synergistic guest services and operational efficiency.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree: Highly preferred, but a High School Diploma plus some secondary education or technical training certification is required.
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a sales representative or in a similar role.
- Previous experience in a similar property, hotel, resort, or other similar-sized complex is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Knowledge of hospitality sales platforms is highly preferred.
Language: Fluent in English for vendor engagements and communication with guests.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
