Job Summary :
The Mental Health Counselor will join a team of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians in the Counseling Center on a private Christian university campus. The Counseling Center utilizes a stepped care model providing customized short term treatment options for undergraduate college students. The mental health counselor is responsible for providing in-person screening / assessment & short term counseling appointments as scheduled.
Schedule :
This role is limited to 16 hours per week, 10 months of the year (August-May). This person must be able to work on Mondays.
Salary :
Pay range : $32.00 - $42.00 per hour

Job Description : Responsibilities :
- Provide mental health assessment, followed by brief mental health counseling as appropriate or referral to outside resources.
- Administer protocols to manage high risk clinical issues.
- Provide mental health assessment to determine immediate risk for self-harm; make appropriate referrals.
- Act as a liaison, actively collaborate, and provide referrals to assist students to access appropriate campus office or department.
- Facilitate and / or co-facilitate workshops and groups on mental health topics.
- Provide all services within the context of the Counseling Center team.
- Support campus community standards in the provision of student services as articulated in the PLNU Student Handbook.
