We are currently seeking an experienced individual who can thoroughly inspect and service hand-held fire extinguishers and test fire alarms and related life safety systems. Using delicate test equipment including a smoke detector sensitivity tester, you will test system functionality, record detailed results of proper system operation and/or deficiencies, and make service recommendations. Most of your work will be performed on a client’s work site, working alone or with a team as required by the job. You will interact with clients and occasionally Fire Marshals in a professional manner. Your role protects lives and property. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, lead others, and be challenged in your personal and professional development. Low-voltage license is not required for this position.
WORK SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day between the window of 7 AM to 5 PM. Early starts are periodically required. After-hours inspections are rare.
COMPENSATION: $22-$25 per hour or more depending on experience. You will receive reimbursement for mileage to customer sites (excluding commute), PLUS ongoing training, company paid retirement, profit sharing, performance bonuses, medical and dental (75% paid by company), life insurance and stock ownership! EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent. NICET certification is a plus.
SKILLS: Effective problem-solving skills are required, and fire extinguisher, alarm and life safety system testing experience is a plus. Additionally, success in this position requires professional written and verbal communications, basic skills with Microsoft Office -- primarily MS Excel and MS Word. You will be able to follow specific instructions precisely when necessary, keep track of multiple jobs and initiatives in various stages, consistently follow through on delegated tasks and always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, kneel, crawl, and enter some confined spaces.
