Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and executing systematic trading strategies focused on index rebalancing. This individual will leverage proprietary data, quantitative research, and real-time execution systems to capitalize on inefficiencies arising from index composition changes. The role requires a strong blend of market microstructure expertise, and execution optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement algorithmic trading strategies to exploit index rebalancing opportunities across equities and ETFs.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize execution of large-scale trades in response to index events (e.g., MSCI, S&P, FTSE, Russell rebalances).
- Work closely with quants, researchers, and engineers to refine trading models and improve execution efficiency.
- Analyze historical rebalancing events to identify alpha-generating patterns and optimize order flow execution.
- Ensure risk management and compliance standards are met within the strategy framework.
- Enhance existing infrastructure for signal generation, trade execution, and post-trade analytics.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years of experience in algorithmic trading, quantitative trading, or market-making with a focus on index rebalancing strategies.
- Proven track record of profitability in trading index-related events.
- Strong understanding of market microstructure and execution strategies in equities, ETFs, and derivatives.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C , or Java for strategy development and backtesting.
- Knowledge of trading venues, order types, and liquidity dynamics.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, high-volume trading environments.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a background in mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in machine learning applications for trading signal development.
- Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) for large-scale data processing.
- Previous experience in a multi-strategy hedge fund, prop trading firm, or asset management firm.
