THE OPPORTUNITY
Pointe is looking for Consultants to support our Private Equity (PE) practice and join our growing firm. At Pointe, expectations for our Consultants are high but empowering. You will be part of a team with direct access to Pointe’s partners and key client decision-makers. Your ideas will be heard, and your thoughts valued as we help clients grow and drive strategic advantage. You will be a key contributor on client engagements and project deliverables. Pointe currently operates in a flexible hybrid office model. This is a full-time salaried position located in our new Houston, Texas office. Pointe offers industry leading compensation, robust benefits, and schedule flexibility.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Consultants are integral to Pointe’s success as a firm. As a Consultant in Private Equity, you represent the engine of our Great People, Great Clients, and Great Work Mantra! You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing the data that will enable the delivery of Great Work to our exclusive list of private equity firms, including a mix of mega-funds and middle market investment groups. You will directly support our client’s investment decisions via a mix of due diligence initiatives and growth strategy engagements. More specifically, you will:
- Support M&A processes (primarily for PE clientele), including buy-side and sell-side commercial diligences
- Support in hypotheses generation to inform research, analytical approaches, and credentialization in key client industries
- Conduct original primary research by leading executive-level interviews to inform key diligence workstreams
- Support the development of and/or validation of financial, commercial, and strategic assumptions for both corporate and financial buyers
- Support and lead the execution of typical M&A diligence workstreams, such as generating market sizing and forecasting models, conducting customer surveys, performing competitive analysis, etc.
- Manage relationships with key external vendors
- Positively contribute to the dynamic, high-achieving atmosphere of the firm
This role differs from our Generalist Consultant role in its focus. Consultants in Private Equity will be staffed full-time to PE client engagements, primarily in private equity due diligences, in Summer 2025.

- BA or BS required in fields such as Economics, Business, Finance, or Data Science with a clear track record of academic excellence (minimum 3.5 GPA)
- Master’s degree in business, management, finance, or other relevant degree preferred
- Prior experience (including internship experience) in research, consulting, corporate development, private equity, or similar experience preferred
- A strong desire to learn about the PE industry and support investors in a fast-paced deal environment
- An aptitude for networking and executive-level interviewing
- Well-honed business acumen and analytical skills
- Strong communication, writing, and critical-thinking skills
- Work ethic, dedicated, organized, detail-oriented, and accountable
- Time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Advanced skill set in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with other analytics tools a plus (e.g., Tableau, R, Python), including modeling and statistical data analysis
- Foreign language capabilities are a plus
