Summary
The Accounting Associate computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Account Associate
- Heavy accounts payable duties.
- Processes accounting and compliance mail / email / filing.
- Posts and deposits receipts - customer payments and fees / commissions from carriers / partners - electronic funds, credit cards, checks.
- Identifies and obtains / files statements containing details necessary for processing direct bill commissions received from various companies and assists with posting and / or tasking the statements to internal and external parties with related responsibilities.
- Reconciles cash / bank and other general ledger accounts with various ledgers and supporting documents and performs other month-end closing responsibilities.
- Assists employees, vendors, and / or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
- Assists Account Managers with reconciliations of customer account balances.
- Provides assistance for administration of records including contracts, licenses, correspondence and accounting statements, invoices and records.
- Completes assignments of and assistance with tasks within the role-based management system for both accounting and administrative roles.
- Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
