Summary:
The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for leading a team to successfully complete assigned projects while ensuring accuracy, adherence to client deadlines, and a commitment to safety. This role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining efficiency, and upholding quality standards to meet organizational and client expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the company’s needs and look for the best way to meet client’s deadlines.
- Train, organize and schedule staff.
- Schedule carriers accordingly.
- Follows and enforces OSHA and Pointsmith safety guidelines.
- Manage all employees assigned to the shipping department.
- Attendance at production meeting and other meetings are required.
- Provide distribution status to Logistics Coordinator.
- Maintain good relations with others.
- Assists in other departments as needed
- Preform any other duties assigned by Logistics Coordinator.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of Lean principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 6 Sigma).
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, lead teams, and facilitate change.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, execute, and manage client promotions and Lean projects.
- Training and Coaching Skills: Ability to train and coach others on Lean methodologies and tools.
- Data Analysis Skills: Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: A strong belief in the power of continuous improvement and a desire to drive positive change
- Proficient in English with strong reading comprehension skills for following written instructions.
