Summary:
Polamer Precision is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with solid experience in financial accounting. Exposure to a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries and schedules for month-end close.
- Understand and reconcile Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts, addressing outstanding issues or concerns.
- Reconcile credit card accounts, bank statements, and checking account sweeps.
- Complete monthly internal financial close reports and present financial data to management.
- Review the accuracy of wage computations and process biweekly journal entries related to payroll
- Cross-train in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and reporting.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget for revenue and direct or indirect costs.
- Participate in data collection and response preparation for any external audits.
- Prepare annual census reports and assist with government filings.
- Perform basic analysis of cost records, comparing actual versus standard costs, and prepare variance reports. Conduct inventory cycle counts.
- Support ad-hoc internal and external financial projects and audits as requested by the Controller and CFO.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of experience, or equivalent education and relevant work experience.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong experience with general ledger, account analysis, and Excel.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Primarily sedentary work involving sitting at a desk, using a computer, and communicating via phone.
- Ability to stand and walk in an office environment and manufacturing facility
