What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research and Product Development position at Polar Beverages?
Overview: As an integral member of our Product Development team you will work with and provide technical assistance to manufacturing, purchasing, product development, marketing, customer service and the quality departments. *This is an in office position*
Responsibilities:
- Test beverages for aroma and flavor, sugar, acidity and carbonation and packaging requirements
- Maintenance of laboratory instruments
- Evaluate new flavors and ingredients for use in beverages – natural and/or artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors
- Shelf life studies – evaluate finished product over time for changes in flavor
- Review labels for federal & state regulatory compliance
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong math skills – comfortable with decimals, fractions, percentages and unit conversions
- Laboratory experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Good computer skills including literacy with Excel
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Food Sciences preferred
- 2-3 years experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory.
Reports to: Sr. Manager of R&D
