Child Care Teacher

Position- Teacher

• Plan daily lessons and environment for your classroom using developmentally appropriate activities and planned curriculum.
• Submit weekly lesson plans to your director.
• Plan activities for small and large group experiences, prepare activities throughout the day.
• Continued professional growth- attend and participate at staff meetings, in-services, and workshop courses.
• Complete inservice hours. Full time staff are required to complete 24 hours of in-service a year per the State of MN. Part time staff who work 20 hours or less a week are required 12 hours a year.
• Understand growth and child development- make the school a warm and accepting place for young children.
• Welcome parents and children into the program, communicate with parents about their child’s activities and performance throughout the day.
• Establish a good rapport with parents, staff, and children.
• Be flexible and willing to assist where needed within the company.
• Keep records- evaluate children, have conferences with parents.
• Evaluate personal teacher strategies and curriculum yearly or upon director’s request.
• Share in the upkeep and maintenance of the center.

Personal requirements:

• Positive attitude towards self, children, parents, and staff.
• Neat, clean appearance within the structure of the PCCC dress code.
• Professional behavior both in and outside of the center.

Educational Requirements:

• Complete the PCCC orientation and training.
• Must be at least 18 years old, have a degree, or meet the requirements listed on page 6 of MN Rule 3. Please contact us if you’re interested so we can learn more about you and how we can comply with these requirements

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
