POSITION:
Senior Electrical DesignerLOCATION:
Lake Charles
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Performs the Design Lead on specific projects
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizes design systems and software (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite) to produce electrical design deliverables
- Performs field work and data gathering with no supervision
- Assigned as the Design Lead for a specific project and can produce majority of the deliverables for the discipline as well as written scope of work
- Delegates work for Junior Designers and Drafters for project support
- Generates bulk material take-offs for instrument/electrical materials
- Develop layouts, performs various calculations, specification development and electrical one-line and instrument loop diagrams
- Supports development of Junior Designers
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in drafting and design in the petroleum/petrochemical industry sector
- 2-year degree in Computer drafting/design preferred
- Proficient in current design, drafting, and software packages
- Available for short-term travel
IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:
Reports to I&E Design Lead and I&E Engineering Department Manager
V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at times
· Must be able to work in facilities, climbing ladder, stairs, and walking in warm temperatures
