Polaris Sensor Technologies is seeking a Part-Time Optical Laboratory Technician to support calibration and field data collection efforts through the evening. This role will require collecting data outdoors and at night. This role involves working with electro-optics, lasers, and sensors ranging from visible to long-wave infrared in both laboratory and field test environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in optical system calibration, data acquisition, and field testing.
Responsibilities
- Execute system calibration procedures in both lab and field settings.
- Operate EO/IR system hardware.
- Operate support equipment including power supplies, multimeters, video cameras, and data acquisition systems..
- Install, manage, and operate data acquisition and calibration software.
- Plan, execute, and report on field tests.
- Assess performance, capabilities, and limitations of optical and electro-optical sensors.
- Take ownership of optical testing in laboratory and field environments.
Required Qualifications
- 0-5 years of experience in laboratory and field environments.
- Willing and able to work outdoors.
- Mechanically and electrically inclined.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.
- U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a security clearance.
