A highly respected, ‘A rated’ insurance carrier is seeking a Casualty Product Manager to drive strategy and profitability for the General Liability (GL) and Commercial Auto lines of business.
This role is a key contributor to the underwriting leadership team, working closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to enhance product performance, optimize pricing strategies, and implement innovative solutions in risk selection and segmentation for both of these product lines.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with expertise in Commercial Auto and/or GL Casualty Underwriting who thrives in a data-driven, collaborative environment and has a track record of driving profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the product line expert for General Liability and Commercial Auto, ensuring strong underwriting and risk selection standards.
- Analyze product performance across multiple states and territories, leveraging data insights to refine strategy.
- Develop and monitor pricing strategies by territory, ensuring alignment with market conditions and company profitability goals.
- Collaborate with Actuarial and Underwriting to establish state-permissible loss ratios and evaluate segmentation opportunities.
- Conduct research on industry trends, emerging risks, InsurTech advancements, AI, and predictive modeling to enhance product innovation.
- Maintain underwriting guidelines and ensure consistency in risk evaluation.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in Commercial Auto, GL/Casualty in Underwriting and/or Product Development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- CPCU designation preferred.
- Proven expertise in pricing strategy, risk segmentation, and underwriting guidelines.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills to drive product innovation and market positioning.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively at all levels of leadership.
- Deep understanding of the independent agency distribution channel and evolving industry trends.
