The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
  • Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
  • Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.



Essential Tasks:::
  • Review, interpret, post and process pleadings, motions and orders for Civil Infraction and Non-Criminal Infraction cases into case management system either in paper format or by electronic filing. Set court dates for the proper location and time.
  • Print out weekly court docket for all hearing types.
  • Scan and index civil traffic and non criminal documents into imaging system.
  • Periodically prepare lifetime driver transcripts for all traffic related cases set for a court hearing.
  • Prepare court docket, memo of sentence for court hearing and attend weekly court sessions. Accurately record rulings or dispositions announced in court and updates to the applicable case management system.
  • Prepare witness subpoenas, cancellation letters and send proper notification to applicable parties regarding future court hearings and/or payment due letters.
  • Process incoming driving school completion certificates received by electronic filing.
  • Analyze State Driver License information to confirm eligibility for license reinstatement.
  • Perform record searches in CCIS to assist customers with traffic issues.
  • Data entry of civil infraction cases and sending proper notification of payment and/or court appearance.
  • Listen earnestly to customer request and respond to questions and provide information involving individual cases, court dates, and types of changes.
  • Furnishes technical information to inquiring customers without giving legal advice; answers telephone calls from internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner by providing accurate procedural information as outlined in department guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Minimum Skills / Qualifications::
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other employees of the work unit and with outside agencies.
  • Ability to communicate with people from varied backgrounds.
  • Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of department’s overall operation and workflow.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and work load.
  • Ability to apply policies and procedures as they relate to job tasks.
  • Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe and related software applications. Proficiency in use of Word and/or Excel.
  • Ability to accurately type 35 WPM.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written form. Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to cover work of other employees to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
