Essential Tasks: :
- Build Receivables for Probation Payments for the Probation Department.
- Receive and process daily work from Probation Department.
- Balance money orders from daily recap from Probation Department.
- Process paperwork for probation refunds and probation restitution payments.
- Balance and verify daily financial activities and correct errors.
- Prepare and input daily financial transactions on New Vision, ShowCase, and Oracle applications.
- Verify financial transactions and maintain records for audits.
- Update spreadsheets and Access database for probation refunds and restitution and work with Accountant II to ensure monthly balancing completed at month end.
- Process incoming payments from outside collection agencies, Linebarger & AllianceOne, in New Vision application.
- Provide cashiering and customer service backup to front counter.
- Scan all case related accounts payable paperwork to cases in New Vision.
- Balance change fund for the office with another staff member.
- Build receivables and conversion cases.
- Process ACS hour adjustment requests from Court Payments & Compliance.
- Provides a high quality of service to both internal and external customers.
- Covers jobs of other employees as needed in their absence to ensure deadlines are met
- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills / Qualifications::
- High School diploma or (General Education Diploma) GED. Significant history of related job responsibilities may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.
- Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of department’s overall operation and workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures as they relate to job tasks.
- Knowledge or experience with Oracle, preferred.
- Proficiency in use of Word and Excel.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and to produce accurate data entry.
- Ability to demonstrate decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to accurately type 25 wpm and operate adding machine (10 key).
- Ability to communicate well with people from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an intense environment.
- Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization and read and write English. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
