- The Mission of the Clerk of Courts has a high degree of public accountability, regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
- Support and comply with the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct of the Clerk of Courts.
- Maintain a high standard relating to professional conduct and behavior.
- Work cooperatively with other employees of the work unit and embrace a teamwork approach to completing tasks.
- Review Logan and TCATS reports and make corrections in ShowCase and PICS as required. Request and transmit weekly reports to various agencies such as FDLE and OSCA for the criminal division.
- Process a variety of daily or weekly PICS and ShowCase error reports making necessary corrections and working closely with staff members in a professional manner to ensure accurate record keeping.
- Work on periodic reports or projects received from the Department of Highway Safety that need may warrant review and updating of reported data.
- Process requests for the sealing or expunging of records on criminal cases.
- Review and process daily D6 and case event activity in the ShowCase system.
- Assist with the preparation and transmission of judgment and sentence documents.
- Answer incoming telephone calls by assisting internal and external customers professionally and with accurate information.
- Scan and index documents into the case management system(s) while making the appropriate case updates.
- Perform record searches in CCIS and DAVID to assist customers with criminal and traffic related issues.
- Furnishes technical information to inquiring customers without giving legal advice.
- Being able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member with other employees of the work unit and with outside agencies.
- Ability to communicate with people from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to acquire or have knowledge of current procedures to accomplish tasks within areas of department’s overall operation and workflow.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage work to meet necessary time requirements and workload.
- Ability to apply policies and procedures as they relate to job tasks.
- Ability to operate a PC and/or mainframe and related software applications. Proficiency in use of Word and/or Excel.
- Ability to accurately type 35 WPM.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail and to remain calm in an anxious, intense environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written form. Must be able to read and write English.
- Ability to cover work of other employees to ensure deadlines are met.
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma.
