POLK COUNTY CONSERVATION is looking for a passionate social media and content intern who can support the efforts of multiple units within our department. The content and social media intern will be responsible for researching, developing, and authoring quality content for social, digital, and print channels to promote various projects and events undertaken by Polk County Conservation. From designing social media campaigns to crafting blog series and web stories, the Community Outreach Office of Polk County Conservation wants to help you apply and test what you've learned in the classroom to all things conservation, recreation, and environmental education.
Under direct supervision of a specified Unit Manager, assists in performing duties as assigned in accordance with the student's educational program and the needs of the unit to which the student is assigned; and to perform related duties as assigned. Assists in varied assignments such as technical / professional work, research, analysis, and other duties as assigned.
Illustrative Examples of Work
- Performs routine work pertinent to the subject area to which assigned such as administration, natural resources, environmental education, community outreach, parks advocacy, parks planning, construction and maintenance, equestrian, and leisure services.
- Specific work assignments depend on the terms of the student's educational program and the unit to which the student is assigned. Examples of work to be performed in each division or area include :
Community Outreach- content creation for websites, social media, and print materials; digital asset management; special event assistance
Efficiently research and collect data, interviews, and images to create and publish original
content
Based on results, offer recommendations for content creation, posting cadence, and ad dollar
spend
