Summary
As a Garden Center Sales Associate, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding customer service and promoting our diverse range of gardening products. Reporting to the Store Manager, your core skills in retail sales, cash handling, and communication will be essential in assisting customers with their gardening needs. Your premium knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance will enhance the shopping experience, while your relevant skills in merchandising and stocking will ensure our displays are appealing and well-organized. Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and landscape materials while providing exceptional customer service.
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately, including cash handling and processing returns.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the sales floor, ensuring products are well-stocked and displayed attractively.
- Utilize retail math to assist in inventory management and merchandising efforts.
- Share knowledge of horticulture and lawn care to educate customers on plant care and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills and effective communication abilities
- Experience in retail sales and cash handling, including proficiency with POS systems
- Knowledge of horticulture, gardening, and landscape maintenance is a plus
- Ability to perform merchandising and stocking tasks efficiently
- Organizational skills to maintain a well-presented sales floor
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
