Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Position: Material Handler/Fork Lift Driver

Summary statement:

The Material Handler performs various tasks associated with the raw materials and miscellaneous production components used in the manufacturing process.

Assigned responsibilities and duties:

• Unload trucks
• Load raw material into silos
• Ensure all necessary raw materials for the production lines are properly prepared, staged and loaded
• Regrind scrap plastic
• Transport raw materials between multiple warehouses as required
• Periodic inventory counting and reporting
• Prepare outbound scrap trucks
• Always ensures a clean and safe working environment
• Other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Able to read, write and speak English
• Able to do basic math
• Ability to multitask
• Must be an effective communicator
• Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be forklift certified

Education and Experience:

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience working with plastic raw materials preferred

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk and talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds.
• This job operates in a manufacturing setting with loud noises, and hot and cold temperatures.

Pay Scale: Hourly, Bi-weekly

Salary: $16.00 per hour

Working week: Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly, must be able to work weekends and holidays, as needed.
