RESPONSIBILITES
Promotes health, safety, and environmental regulations by ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements. · Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the current quality system, procedures, etc., required for per company standard. · Performs various tests to produce reliable and precise data to support production requirements and conducts diagnosis on any issues as necessary. · Produces reliable data ensuring products conform to known company and customer standards. · Ensures proper training and preparation of specimens and samples. · Manages and works in compliance with the current ISO standard that Polyglass is registered for and is familiar with the areas of the standard. · Assists in all PTR’s and PTRC’s, field evaluations and analysis of customer requirements. · Records and interprets test results and relays to Plant Management. · Maintains laboratory equipment in an operable and calibrated condition per company standard. · Interacts with vendors to procure equipment, chemicals and materials for department work. · Generates QC report summaries for the Plant Management. · Responsible for formula accuracy in production. o Batches found to be out of specification require input and approval by the Plant Manager. · Prepares weekly and or monthly summaries covering the quality system, test data and other information regarding product quality for Plant Management. · Performs other duties as required. · Must be available for 24/7 plant support.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in conducting multiple testing and sample gathering within a production environment. · Experience in performing and interpreting product quality, mechanical and environmental test results. · Experience leading and managing multiple projects with a time-sensitive and results-based focus. · Requires working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. · Must pass certification and be able to perform internal ISO auditing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Quality Lab in a production environment. · Previous experience in a production environment preferred.
EDUCATION · Minimum of High School diploma or GED required. · B.S. in related field preferred.
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS · Requires working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint. · AS-400 or other enterprise-wide system experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT · Must be able to work in a laboratory and production environment · Moderate dust, noise, hot and cold climates intermittently.
