Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, and financial analysis. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in guiding the company's financial strategy and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive system of accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and optimize the operations of the accounting department, including designing a structure to meet departmental goals and objectives.
- Lead and participate in the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
- Prepare and review consolidated and separate financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze financial data and reports, identifying variances from budget and addressing significant financial issues with management.
- Oversee the creation and management of management cost reports.
- Maintain and update the company’s chart of accounts.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure stringent quality control measures over financial transactions and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal tax filing requirements.
- Monitor the company’s debt levels, ensuring compliance with debt covenants.
- Coordinate the annual audit process, working with external auditors to provide necessary information for audit completion and tax return preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax fundamentals, and financial regulations.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
