Controller

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, and financial analysis. As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in guiding the company's financial strategy and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Duties

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive system of accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
• Supervise and optimize the operations of the accounting department, including designing a structure to meet departmental goals and objectives.
• Lead and participate in the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
• Prepare and review consolidated and separate financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze financial data and reports, identifying variances from budget and addressing significant financial issues with management.
• Oversee the creation and management of management cost reports.
• Maintain and update the company’s chart of accounts.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure stringent quality control measures over financial transactions and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal tax filing requirements.
• Monitor the company’s debt levels, ensuring compliance with debt covenants.
• Coordinate the annual audit process, working with external auditors to provide necessary information for audit completion and tax return preparation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax fundamentals, and financial regulations.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong team management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of compliance orientation.
• Auditing experience is a plus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
