Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and distributed effectively. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to move products within the warehouse.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.
- Build and maintain pallets for storage or shipment, ensuring proper stacking and securing of materials.
- Utilize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory levels and order fulfillment.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order picking and dispatching of goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to promote a safe working environment.
- Provide mechanical knowledge when troubleshooting equipment issues or performing routine maintenance.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts, clamp trucks, order pickers, and other material handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes along with experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
- A background in warehouse supervision is a plus but not mandatory.
