Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders by expanding their horizons and opening doors for their future.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated intern to assist with our annual Leadership Summit, taking place February 20-22, 2025. These internships are ideal for students interested in event planning, management, and marketing. The roles require strong organizational, communication, and professional skills. Interns will work closely with the PolyStrong Executive Director, Operations Manager, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Outreach Intern:
- Collaborate closely with the Outreach Coordinator to communicate event information, registration details, and flyers to high school counselors, PI student body club governments, college club counselors, community partners, and universities.
- Reach out to universities within the state to invite them to participate in our career fair.
- Contact local businesses and industries to secure their participation in the career fair.
- Promote and manage attendee registration both before and during the event.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with panelists, sponsors, VIPs, keynote speakers, and other special guests.
- Manage email and SMS communication with special guests.
- Arrange accommodations for special guests at the Fundraising Gala, panels, and workshops.
- Oversee social media channels, including managing chat features and responding to inquiries.
- Coordinate the setup and takedown of the 3-day event.
- Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Position Requirements:
- Availability to work 10 hours per week leading up to the event.
- Full-time availability from February 17-22, 2025.
- Attend weekly meetings and collaborate with PolyStrong’s Executive Director and Operations Manager.
- Use Asana for reporting and documenting progress.
- Reliable transportation required.
Volunteer Support:
- Commit to working full-time from February 17-22, 2025.
- Support includes registration processes for the gala, summit, and symposium.
- Greet and usher special guests including gala speakers, sponsors, and workshop panelists.
- Assist with setup and takedown of the 3-day event.
- Lead workshop groups, ensuring timely and smooth operations.
