Accountant

Position Overview:

Pomegranate Hospitality is seeking a detail-oriented, solutions-driven Accountant to manage key financial functions within our dynamic and growing organization. Job Summary:

This position is essential for ensuring the accuracy of our financial data, encompassing accounts receivable and payable, payroll processing, month-end closings, and tax filings.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 

• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience with a related degree or 8 years of progressive accounting experience with no degree. 
• A strong background in A/R, A/P, balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll processing required. 2 years working in QuickBooks required.  
• Related restaurant accounting experience is strongly preferred. 
• Restaurant inventory management software experience preferred. 
• Experience using Toast, Slack, a plus.

Skills: 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks required and must have advanced Excel skills. Must be tech savvy.  
• Familiarity with financial analysis and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• A/R responsibilities include, but not limited to, posting daily sales activity for multiple units and online operations, making check deposits. 
• A/P responsibilities including, but not limited to, maintenance of vendor accounts including collection of W9s, check runs and Positive Pay posting, proper recording of capital asset purchases, entering intercompany transactions in QuickBooks, recording credit card transactions, resolving vendor invoice and payment issues on occasion, filing and paying monthly sales tax with local and state agencies.
• Recording and paying investor distributions.
• General cash management responsibilities.
• Month-end and year-end closing procedures including, but not limited to, reconciliation of cash and non-cash balance sheet accounts, recording journal entries, working closely with outside accounting consultants on month- and year-end close procedures and rectifying accounting discrepancies, working closely with outside tax professionals to produce accurate and timely tax returns.
• Payroll responsibilities include, but not limited to, computing commissions, processing payroll, processing payroll tax payments, and submitting payroll tax filings.
• Workers’ Comp Audits 
• File and pay annual tax reports, such as personal property tax and occupational tax.
• Compile vendor expense reports for annual 1099 filings.
• Regular communication with store-level leadership and executive team.
• Maintain electronic and paper files as required by law and company policy.
