Assistant Director of Technology
Date: July 1, 2016
Reports to: Director of Technology
Supervises: Technology Department Staff in the Absence of the Director of Technology
Qualifications: High School Degree or Equivalent
At Least (1) Year Experience or Training with Micro-computers
and Networked Computers
Knowledge of Compaq Service Policies and Guidelines
Familiarity with Macintosh/Apple Product Repair
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 3.x, 95 and NT
Workstation
Basic Knowledge of Novell Products under IPX and TCP/IP;
Knowledge of Basic Networking Principals and Hardware
Job Goal: Assists the Director of Technology with overseeing the district’s
technology department and services within the district’s budget.
Employment Terms: 12 Month Contract
Generally – 7:30 A.M – 4:30 P.M., exclusive of a lunch – to
accommodate technology office hours and supervision of personnel.
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually by Director of Technology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists the Director of Technology with the following duties:
- Coordinates data processing and administrative microcomputers.
- Coordinates District administrative data network implementations.
- Coordinates instructional hardware and network implementations.
- Supports training in all areas of technology.
- Develops standards for acquisition, maintenance and training for educational technologies.
- Establishes process to monitor and keep interested district individuals informed of evolving technologies and their implications and costs.
- Coordinates installation, training, and maintenance of software.
- Coordinates student management software.
- Maintains technology budget.
- Coordinates E-rate for District.
- Coordinates WAVE implementation for District.
- Interviews and evaluates technology staff.
- Attends all Board of Education Meetings in absence of Director of Technology.
- Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
