What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Drafter position at Pontex Engineering?
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for the preparation of Construction Documents, drafting and design including but not limited to architectural floor plans, elevations, details, site plans, MEPs, foundations/framing details, etc for residential and commercial projects
- Responsible for assisting the project team with the production and/or revision of the drawings, including compliance with review agencies; code compliance; schedule commitments; product research.
- Ensure that drawings and plans adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards, related to architectural design
- Coordinate plan submittals with City/County and any other governmental agencies involved in the project approval. This may include in person meetings
- Attend site visit to gather as built information for current and future projects
- Verify the accuracy of drawings and plans to eliminate errors or discrepancies.
- Revise City/County corrections on construction document that have been submitted for review
- Update schedules/timelines using software such as procore / monday / Microsoft project
- Ability to use Bluebeam to mark up plans
- Coordinate work with outside Consultants to ensure a timely completion and accuracy.
- Coordinate with Clients/Contractors/Developers during the Construction phase to answer any plan questions
- Duties as assigned related to the work
Skill:
- CAD software proficiency (revit/solid works a plus)
- Knowledge of California Residential codes
- Strong computer skill
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to attend/host meetings using google meet / teams
- Ability to interpret and implement Client specifications effectively.
