What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Day Camp Coordinator position at Pontiac Business?
The Summer Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for record-keeping, scheduling, and facilitating activities to meet program goals. The program coordinator must be on site during hours that the Summer Day Camp is in session, and is responsible for directing paid support staff and volunteers, and communicating with partner groups, as well as parents.
Qualifications:
- Specific education and/or experience in child care settings as identified by the Michigan Department of Human Services, e.g., Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree 480 hours or various credentials experience (teaching certificate)
- Experience working with elementary aged students, preferably with at-risk populations
- Ability to pass a criminal history background check and central registry clearance
- Availability for ALL scheduled days of operation, listed below
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with different learning styles and modalities
- Familiarity with needs and abilities of children ages 4 - 14
- Skilled in supervision and management of individuals and groups
- Flexibility and resourcefulness
Schedule:
- Summer Day Camp which runs early July through mid-August from 8am to 4pm. Program operates from 9am to 3pm daily.
- Must be available for weeklong training program at the end of June

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
