What are the responsibilities and job description for the Creative Artworker position at Popcorn Posters?
Popcorn Custom Products/Museum Nerd is looking for a Creative Artworker. We are a company that provides design services for our products to a variety of gift industries, primarily the Museum Marketplace. Our products include posters, greeting cards, magnets, mugs, and many other gift items.
An Artworker is responsible for many goals but primarily involves seeing a product design project through from start to finish. We have built a reputation for being a boutique provider of custom products in the museum and gift shop world and are looking for someone to help us maintain our high-quality standard. A passion for design and an eye for detail are among the requirements. A portion of the duties are as a pre-press technician readying files for print and ensuring proper output during the proofing stage. This involves applying various imagery to product templates and matching the output to proofs when necessary. Ideally, a client will have a style guide to allow us to correctly interpret and adhere to their corporate identity. But often, a client will not have a style guide and creativity will be required for layout and design.
Responsibilities
- Place imagery into product templates.
- Color-match artwork across various mediums and products.
- Interpret a style guide and apply it across a range of printed materials.
- Produce product mock-ups and design visuals.
- Design sell sheets, catalogs, newsletters, and other social media marketing assets.
- Add products to various online databases and content management systems.
- Communicate with clients effectively when necessary.
Requirements
- Experience with retouching and adjusting color in Photoshop.
- Ability to work in both print and web.
- High attention to detail.
- Understanding of branding and typography.
- Proficiency in the Windows environment and file organization.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn.
- Pluses: Knowledge of the digital print production process.
Experience with InDesign, Illustrator, and Social Media Marketing.
