General Summary
The Crew Member for Back of House is responsible for crucial behind the scene operations of the restaurant. This position is vital to the success of our customer service experience and growth of business and requires the candidate to multi-task, cross-train for multiple stations, and perform a variety of duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works as a team member with Front of House Crew Members and other staff in maintaining a smooth and efficient operation.
- Takes care of trash in front and back of the house.
- Prepares batter, thaws chicken tenders, and clean bone-in chicken for seasoning in accordance with the Daily Prep Chart provided.
- Practices food safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and food spoilage.
- Responsible for monitoring the kill dates and expiration dates of all products handled.
- Follow Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen First In, First Out (FIFO) rotation procedures.
- Maintains a properly cleaned and sanitized work station.
- Prepares side items according to the standard operating procedures, including marking and maintaining hold times for all products.
- Watches product temperatures when preparing food.
- Cups side items according to standard operating procedures.
- Follows the production planning tools to ensure enough product is prepared to fill guest orders during the shift.
- Assists other team members with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant/property including disposal of trash and debris from outside parking lot, cleaning windows and other general cleaning requirements assigned by management.

Physical Demands of the Job
- Be able to reach, bend, squat, stoop, shake, carry, push and lift items throughout the shift.
- Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds, rarely lifts up to 60 pounds.
- Good hearing for accurate communication.
- Occasionally uses a ladder and/or step stool.
- Consistently kneels to utilize proper lifting procedures.
- Consistently lifts for product preparation, stocking, and inventory.
- Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers.
- Frequently stoops to pick up supplies and trash.
- Ability to work standing and walk for 8 hours or more per day.
- Consistently sees during all activities.
Education and Experience
- Experience in a limited service restaurant is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is desired, but not required.
