We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team. This individual will play a critical role in assisting with funding processes and reviewing funding deals for accuracy. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and experience in analyzing funding transactions and deal structures. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure that all funding activities align with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the finance team in processing and documenting funding transactions, ensuring all necessary financial data is accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Analyze funding agreements and contracts to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Ensure that all terms and conditions of funding deals are properly reflected in the accounting records.
- Perform account reconciliations for all funding-related transactions, ensuring that discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring that funding activities are accurately represented in the reports.
- Ensure that all financial data related to funding activities is properly recorded, classified, and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or other applicable accounting standards.
- Work closely with legal, sales, and operations teams to understand funding structures, clarify deal terms, and ensure accurate financial documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports related to funding activities. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in funding and accounting procedures and assist in the implementation of best practices to streamline funding reviews and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Experience: 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related role, with specific experience in reviewing funding deals or managing funding processes.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and funding transactions.
- Experience reviewing and analyzing contracts and funding agreements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Regulatory Standards:
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and financial regulations governing funding and lending transactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial modeling or forecasting related to funding and deal structures.
- Knowledge of industry-specific funding mechanisms
- CPA certification or similar professional qualifications is a plus.
