Great Circle Catering (GCC) is a dynamic and multi-faceted catering company where teamwork, individuality, creativity and education are cultivated. We operate a diverse commissary kitchen that caters by land, air and sea. We produce a variety of food, ranging from fine dining to large scale production.
We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement of food, liquor and disposables across our concepts for the daily operation of our commissary kitchen.
Duties & Responsibilities | What you’ll be doing
- Procure food and non-food products across all concepts
- Act as the intermediary between vendors and the culinary team
- Manage orders by sourcing the best product at the best price
- Leverage vendor relationships and buying power across all broadline distributors
- Place orders on time and in accordance with each vendor’s minimums, cut-offs, and delivery schedules
- Create appropriate Purchase Orders per revenue center
- Maintain master inventory list
- Maintain and utilize accurate order guides for all revenue streams
- Control inventory, proper pricing and set-up within the POS system for all kiosk locations
- Receive orders, checking for accuracy and inspecting for quality control purposes
- Request credit when improper/unusable product is received
- Organize and maintain walk-in refrigeration units and dry storage areas
- Coordinate product donations in compliance with our partnership agreement via Seacoast Waste Not
- Look for and suggest to GCC leadership continuous improvements to logistics and efficiency
- Support last minute catering requests
- Support GCC’s CRAF program obligations and ensure adequate par levels

Qualifications | What you bring to us
- 5 years in Food & Beverage, Culinary background required
- Catering experience, preferred
- College degree, preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Familiarity with POS systems and labeling systems
- ServeSafe certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Allergen Awareness training, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Alcohol Awareness training, or ability to obtain upon hire
- Math/Calculation proficiency
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
