POSITION SUMMARY
Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Obtains copy of Shipping or Receiving schedule for order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility
Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks, containers, trailers or vans
Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions
Checking loads are secure
Stacking empty pallets
Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines
Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards
Dumping materials into machine hopper
SECURITY
Complies with all company security procedures.
SAFETY
Complies with all company security procedures.
EQUIPMENT USED
Capable to operate all equipment used in their area of responsibility.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Must have at least 2 years of Electric forklift, Reach-Truck, Stand up and electric pallet jack experience
Maintain a clean & safe environment
Must be able to use Radio Frequency (RF) scanner gun
Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
Forklift certification per OSHA standards preferred but not requirement
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Clamp truck experience preferred but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Applicants must be able to carry 15 to 50 pounds for short periods and capable of getting onto / off a sit-down forklift.
Other physical requirements include walking, standing, bending, lifting for 8 hours.
Willingness to follow all safety practices and other compliance requirements as trained.
Willing to submit to a background check and drug screening
