Landscape Technician
At the Port of Brownsville, the Landscape technician will primarily focus on outdoor environments, designing, creating, and maintaining attractive exterior spaces though we will be adding plants indoors that will require your attention as well. Their role is essential in developing beautiful gardens, lawns, patios, and other green areas to enhance the guest experience at the Port of Brownsville.
The landscape technician is responsible for enhancing and preserving the visual appeal of green spaces at the Port. They will work in both ‘residential’ and commercial settings, utilizing a wide range of landscaping equipment and tools.
These technicians will collaborate with management, bringing a creative perspective to help craft stunning outdoor spaces that foster a peaceful atmosphere while complementing the surrounding architecture.
Physical strength and endurance are important traits for landscape technicians, as their work often involves manually handling tasks outdoors. Responsibilities may include lifting heavy materials, operating machinery, and spending extended periods standing or bending. Additionally, landscape technicians must possess a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics to ensure that each project meets the high standards of the Port's vision. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement landscaping plans that enhance the natural beauty of the Port's properties.
- Perform routine maintenance, including mowing, pruning, and fertilizing, to ensure landscapes remain healthy and vibrant.
- Repair irrigation systems to optimize water usage and support plant health.
- Troubleshoot and repair landscaping equipment as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with management to work with vendors and suppliers to procure high-quality plants and materials.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards during all landscaping activities.
- Provide expert advice on plant care and landscape improvements to management and other team members.
Ideal Candidate:
