Groundskeeper
The Port of Hueneme Oxnard Harbor District seeks a skilled Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds and landscaping throughout its properties.
Job Summary:
This is a varied role that requires physical labor, equipment operation, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of the Port's grounds, including trash pickup, weed abatement, and surface sweeping.
Responsibilities:
- Picks up trash and debris from the ground and water around sport docks and along banks and on site.
- Conducts regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas that require maintenance or repair.
- Sweeps and pressure washes sidewalks, parking lots, office fronts along bull rails and other areas as needed.
- Maintains irrigation systems, trims trees and hedges, and performs pest control services.
- Operates a street sweeper on Port-owned property, including parking lots, warehouses, and terminals.
- Performs backup custodial duties as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 2 years' experience in groundskeeping or a related field.
- Valid California Class C driver's license required.
- Certifications in equipment use and landscaping training are preferred.
- Ability to swim and pass a background check.
Working Conditions:
The incumbent must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
Salary:
$51,319 - $80,573 per year.
