Description:
Job Purpose: Responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all vehicles received at PTP yard. Prepare all vehicles for their storage and staging damage-free while waiting for shipment and loading. Supporting the operations and customer service teams with all requests made by PTP customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
- When assigned to gate duty, keeps a safe operation of the gate to control access to the yard. Keeps log of visitors to yard, including towers, walk-in clients, vendors, tenants, and PTP employees.
- Follows established protocol to control the drop of empty containers and dispatch of loaded ones to and from PTP.
- Review vehicle contract information when receiving vehicles from towers, always ensuring that information matches with vehicles and documents dropped at PTP.
- Performs a thoroughly inspection of cars and cargo, following Standard Work set by PTP. This includes being accurate when measuring vehicles and documenting with PTP tools the condition of vehicles.
- Supports operations teams with the careful staging of vehicles after being inspected.
- Follows all safety guidelines when walking and moving vehicles within the PTP yard.
- Supports office with all requests such as allocation/retrieval of cargo from cars and warehouses.
- Takes initiative keeping the yard clean and out of debris.
Other Responsibilities supporting the operations department:
- Willing to provide support when needed to other areas of the yard operations which may include the loading and unloading trucks light cleaning/maintenance.
- Be available to respond to scheduled and unscheduled business needs outside of normal business hours.
- Keep the yard and loading area clean, safe, and organized, ensuring it meets OSHA requirements.
- Take initiative, ownership, and responsibility of the work duties. Must look to continually develop and improve procedures, processes, and efficiencies.
- Carry out other related duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Must have experience working in used cars yards or warehouses.
- Need to be organized and a self-starter with customer service skills and be a team player willing to get the job done.
- Must be able to safely work year-round outdoors in different weather, withstand noise associated with dock work, exposure to dust, fumes, etc. Must be able to safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
- Must be able to work variable shifts that may consist of days, nights, weekends, holidays, and straight time after 40 hours, based on customer demand.
- Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 75 lbs. occasionally, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions.
- Must ensure attendance and punctuality within company standards.
- Must pass background screen, drug tests.
