Postition Summary:
To provide effective and efficient operation of the auditorium to meet the learning, technical and performance needs of staff, students, and community members.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the facility and its servicing functions and capacities, rental guidelines and user manual, the rental agreement/contract, fees for service, gift and donation policy, ancillary operational guidelines and general school district policies. Oversees archival records of all policies and procedures.
- Operates, maintains, and safeguards the technical assets of the auditorium, including supervising the use of lighting, sound, riggins, communications equipment, and the use of stage facilities.
- Set-up and/or coordinate the set-up of all equipment (e.g. sound equipment, lighting, risers, piano, and acoustical shells) as required for all events.
- Monitor use of the Performance Facilities (including, but not limited to, the Auditorium, Black Box Room, Scene Shop, Cat Walk, Storage Areas, House, Box Office Lobby, and Dressing Rooms, etc.) to assure safety, appropriateness, and adherence to policy by all users.
- Responsible for executing rental contracts.
- Responsible for maintaining and publishing events and facility calendar(s) for the Auditorium, Black Box, Scene Shop, and Dressing Rooms.
- Maintain website.
- Formulate and work with an Auditorium Advisory Board (AAB) and/or Superintendent
- Responsible for Community Relations
- Responsible for maintenance of the facility:
- Provide technical assistance and house management for Port Washington High School District curricular and/or administrative events
- Serve as the designer and technical director for PWHS and feeder district performances. Lead student crews in the development of scenery, lighting plot, and sound design.
- Work with PWHS Art Department to coordinate visual arts exhibits and work with gallery volunteers for the gallery and lobby spaces.
- Collaborate to fill needs for classes related to the arts.
- Responsibly manage the financials of the facility
- Responsible for hiring, training, supervising and paying personnel.
- Administer functions in a non-biased capacity and seeks to balance usage of the facility.
- Communicates with user groups and volunteers.
- Provides direction to the AAB and district administration for growth and usage.
- Attend monthly department and faculty meetings if requested.
- Serve as a member of the Calendar Committee and assist school administration with the maintenance of the facilities usage schedule.
- Provides all other duties as assigned.

- The usual working environment of this position is that of an auditorium and surrounding spaces. The person in this position may be required to attend events and activities outside, at other school locations, or offsite campus as needed. The employee continuously interacts with other staff members, and regularly meets multiple demands from several people.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Theatre or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum two year experience in technical theater or theater management
- Previous technical training on ETC lighting consoles, Behringer sound boards, and Wenger shells/risers preferred
- Any such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills including the ability to speak to groups, and effectively communicate with staff, members of the community, parents/guardians, and the Board of Education.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relating to all business, personnel, and school district matters.
- Commitment to professional standards and ethics.
- Knowledge and ability to use computer equipment and associated theater technical equipment.
