The Business Analyst will work closely with the Senior Finance and Business Administration Analyst to support current financial processes as well as identify processes that need improvement. The primary role of the Business Analyst is to provide insightful analyses and recommendations on business and operational strategies. This position will play an active role in the strategic decision-making process for both long-term and short-term decisions. The Business Analyst requires technical knowledge, analytical, and problem-solving skills to provide reliable business models and reports that are descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive. Support the day-to-day activities of Portage Learning.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

- Assist the Sr Finance and Business Administration Analyst with data analysis projects and confer with others as needed.
- Analyze business or financial data and identify topics for research.
- Conduct monthly financial assessments and generate reports as directed.
- Prepare research reports.
- Assist the Staff Accountant with the maintenance and upkeep of departmental budgets.
- Develop business or financial information systems and make recommendations to leadership for streamlining existing systems and processes.
- Maintain a high-level of confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- Excellent working knowledge of field of work.
- Skilled in analyzing data or information.
- Collaborate with different departments to complete important projects and initiatives in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and achieve desired goals.
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, listening and public speaking) skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be service oriented with a focus on helping others.
Qualifications (Education Requirements/Experience):
- A degree in Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required.
- Minimum 1 year experience of quantitative analysis.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, projectors, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work from the office located in Chippewa Township, PA and conduct a minimum of 80% of work hours in the office.
Travel:
This job may require occasional travel. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
