Compensation : Hourly
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to support the SIP designers by estimating projects for SIP roofs, SIP walls and occasionally SIP floors. Other areas that may require estimating are steel columns and beams, steel roof joists, wood trusses and SIP installation.
Using Planswift and Excel to create material lists to import into Epicor (ERP) system. Other duties may include modeling building in Dietrich to provide estimate details, putting together install packs for shipping and assembling printouts for production jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
2. Importing estimate plans into Planswift to obtain square footage of SIP.
3. Entering data from Planswift into Excel.
4. Importing data into Epicor (ERP) to generate an estimate print out.
5. Sending out requests to outside venders for steel beams / columns, steel roof joists, wood trusses and subcontracted installers.
6. Willing to learn and use Dietrich CAD software, Epicor and Planswift.
7. Willing to learn submittal process and Dietrich software to use as fill in work.
8. Work with salesmen to obtain missing information to complete estimates.
9. Participate in individual skills training and assist with team development.

One year of estimating experience in the construction industry.
Travel
This position requires minimal to no travel.
Computer Skills
1. Ability to operate a computer and use Dietrich design software, Epicor and Planswift.
2. Ability to operate Microsoft Excel, Word and other MS applications.
3. Knowledge of CAD and drawing standards.
Other Requirements
1. Knowledge of construction industry and construction terms.
2. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
3. Good written and oral communication skills.
4. Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and guidelines.
5. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
6. Ability to be courteous with customers, co-workers and construction personnel at all times.
7. Good math skills including, but not limited to, architectural units, fractions, geometry, and basic trigonometry.
