Portfolio Advisors is seeking a valuable fund controller to assist with the accounting, reporting, and operations of our Funds and oversee our Fund Administrators. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, a team player, and capable of prioritizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment. This role works closely with our Fund Controllers and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer - Funds.
About the job:
- Oversee quarterly and year-end close activities for assigned Funds, including work paper review, financial statements, and account reconciliations
- Review and approve Fund capital calls and distributions, including investor calculations and notices.
- Review and approve Fund management fee calculations.
- Oversee Fund administrators for assigned Funds, addressing operational and accounting questions as they arise.
- Assist with managing and coordinating Fund audits for assigned Funds, including detailed review of financial statements.
- Communicate effectively with senior management, external auditors, Fund Administrators, bankers, and tax accountants.
- Address investor questions and ad hoc requests as they arise.
Job requirements:
- 5 years of progressive work experience in the private sector.
- Strong understanding of Fund accounting.
- Financial services experience preferred.
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be hands-on.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Public/private mix preferred.
