Coda Search is partnering with asset manager that is seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to oversee a portfolio of funds and manage day-to-day accounting operations. This is a high-exposure role within a dynamic firm that has ambitious growth plans for 2025 and beyond.
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for reviewing the 3rd-party administrator, preparing monthly financial reporting, and overseeing fund-level accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages in accordance with GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Review and approve work performed by the fund administrator, including NAV calculations, capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare investor reports, ensuring timely and accurate communication of fund performance.
- Assist with the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring financial statements comply with all regulatory and investor requirements.
- Identify and implement efficiencies and best practices to streamline fund accounting and reporting processes.
- Work closely with investment, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless fund management and execution.
- Ensure funds are in compliance with relevant SEC, IRS, and other financial regulations, coordinating with external tax providers as necessary.
- Support senior leadership on various strategic initiatives, including system implementations, fund structuring, and process enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting
- Big 4 public accounting experience required
- Prior experience within financial services or asset management
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and investment fund structures
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Salary : $200,000 - $300,000
