Portland Community College’s Automotive Service Technology program is seeking a new full-time faculty member. The Automotive Service Technology program is a recognized leader in preparing future technicians for the evolving industry. We are currently looking for a full-time faculty member who has up-to-date automotive repair knowledge to teach a variety of courses in our field. Examples of such courses may include: Electrical Systems, Engine Performance, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Undercar Systems. We are committed to serving all students through culturally responsive educational practices. Experience: A combination of automotive teaching experience in an accredited institution and/or automotive service and repair experience in a commercial repair facility equal to 5 full years, and have.

PCC offers a comprehensive benefit package designed to provide employees and their families, including domestic partners, with access to a broad range of benefit options. PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.

Paid Leave:
1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (~10 per year)
21 hours of additional personal leave per year
4 paid holidays (which occur during the term you are teaching)

Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.
