To be eligible for PGE's Internship program, you must be at least 18 years old and have met one of the following criteria:

A high school senior that has enrolled in a college or trade school

A current college or trade school student who is returning to college or a trade school as a full-time student

A recent 2022-2023 college graduate

You must provide verification of your student status by submitting your college transcript (an unofficial one is acceptable) or letter of acceptance to a college or trade school with your online application. You will have the opportunity to upload your documents during the online application process.

PGE Summer Intern – Energy Market Regulatory Policy Intern

Step into the heart of energy market transformation this summer as a Policy Intern supporting the implementation of the Extended Day Ahead Market (EDAM) onboarding at PGE. This initiative, in collaboration with the California ISO, is a groundbreaking step toward optimizing regional grid operations, enhancing energy reliability, and advancing clean energy goals across the West. As a Policy Intern, you’ll play a key role in aligning legal, regulatory, and contractual frameworks to ensure the seamless integration of this innovative market structure.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside policy experts on critical tasks such as reviewing market participation agreements, analyzing regulatory filings, and addressing the intersection of state and federal policies. You’ll help develop and refine strategies to meet compliance requirements, support stakeholder engagement, and align organizational policies with EDAM’s objectives. From collaborating with legal and technical teams to crafting clear, impactful documentation, this internship offers a unique opportunity to bridge policy with real-world energy solutions.

Job Function

Technical Provides support in the areas of science, technology, and mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

Departmental Support May perform administrative, technical, or scientific tasks, such as collecting samples or completing spreadsheets, in support of department assigned. Research and Analysis May perform research and analysis under general supervision. May gather qualitative or quantitative data and develop reports or spreadsheets. Internship Program Events May participate in company-sponsored internship activities.

Education/Experience/Certifications

  • Currently an actively enrolled graduate student (recent graduate accepted) in good standing and pursuing a graduate degree, preferably in a field related to internship; GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred.
  • Some prior work experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid drivers license and a history of safe driving practices.

Compensation Range:

$16.00 - $123,875.00

Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education.
