Position Details
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Head Start Nutrition Roving Family Style Food Service position (Meal Time Aide) is responsible for assisting in the preparation of family style meal service in Head Start classrooms. Assignments will be made no later than 9:00am. Shifts vary from 3-4 hours on days worked and are scheduled between the hours of 9:00am and 2:00pm.

Rosa Parks - 8960 N Woolsey Ave
Boise-Eliot /Humboldt - 620 N Fremont Ave
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing family style quality meals to Head Start students
- Perform responsibilities related to meal service
- Handle food in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain sanitary environment at all times
- Ability to multi-task
- Work cooperatively with classroom team and other program staff
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have a current food handlers card
- Complete employee job and health requirements
- Pass district background check and Office of Child Care's Central Background Registry
- Work quickly and efficiently following written and verbal directions
- Lift up to 30 Lbs
- Ability to push or pull a food cart
- High school degree or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Interest and positive experience working with young children
- Experience working with food service
COMPENSATION: $15.95 per hour
WORK YEAR: This assignment ends at the end of the school year on June 10, 2025.
FTE or HOURS: Up to 15 hours per week on an on-call basis
