What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPED Educational Technician III - (full time, 1.0 FTE) Breathe - Talbot Elementary School position at Portland Public Schools?
Join our collaborative at Talbot! We are seeking educators who are able to support small groups of children with IEP's in our Breathe and Regular Education Classrooms. Under the direction of the principal, assists teachers by performing a variety of tasks that promote student learning and well being. Duties involve working with students individually and in small groups assessing performance, reinforcing instruction, motivating learning, assisting with classroom management, and performing clerical and other non-instructional work.

- Ability to manage data management systems, analyze, ans synthesize data
- Ability to Support teaching and learning
- Ability to manage and oversee schoolwide testing procedures
- Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and other in an open, friendly, business-like manner.
- Approval as an Educational Technician III by the Maine Department of Education.In the alternative, Maine provisional or professional teacher certification.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a college degree that includes nine credit hours related to an education field such as behavior management or classroom strategies, and to candidates who have at least one year of experience working with students in structured situations.
